Instructions for registering your palace with the PalaceTools Directory if you are hosted with Chatserve

1. You need to be listed in the PalaceTools Directory. Click here to check for your listing.

2. If you are not listed in the directory, please click here to register your palace.

3. If you are listed in the Directory and you would like to be listed LIVE, which will report when you are online, number of rooms in your palace and number of visitors, then follow these instructions:

A. Look up your Palace listing on the Index of Palaces.

Click on the name of your Palace to be taken to your Site Page. Once there, look for the "Edit This Site" button.

If you do not have an "Edit this Site" button on your Site page then you will need to fill out form and register again.

B. You will be prompted for your email address and your password. If you need a password or you have had a change of address then write to: directory@palacetools.com

C. If you are listed on the Directory already and know your password and can access your Site Edit Page, look at the top of the page for your Live Directory Key which will look like this:

D. In owner/god mode do a `shutdown of your palace server.

Go to your Utilities Page

Click the "Modify Server Files" function button...

In your pserver.prefs file find the SYSOP field...
Enter your Live Directory Key as follows: SYSOP "XXXXXXXX" (enter your actual Key where you see the X's.)

Go to the bottom of the pserver.prefs file and click on "update pserver.prefs"

Reboot your Palace by returning to your Utilities Page and clicking on "Restart server".

Should you be concerned with editing your pserver.prefs file, tech support will be happy to do it for you. E-mail us your Live Directory Key and we will advise you when we have installed it. You will then be asked to reboot your palace for it to become effective.

E. Your listing in the PalaceTools Directory should then appear on the directory as follows:

Your PalaceTools Directory listing should now report the live data from your server.

To add your gate picture to your Site Page, you must load it into your palaceweb folder and give it an URL...ie: http://palace.chatserve.com/gatepic.jpg. Then put that URL in the box that asks you where it can find your Palace picture.
