Q What is the URL for my web site ?
The URL for your website is basically the same as the address for your palace.
If your palace is at mypalace.chatserve.com, the URL for your web site is http://mypalace.chatserve.com
Q How much space do I get for my web site ?
The space allowed for your account (100MB for basic account and 200MB for premium account) is for both your palace and your web site. You can divide the disk space between the two as you see fit.
Q How can I tell how much space I've already used for my WWW/FTP site ?
To check your disk space usage, go to the User Utility Page and select the Disk Usage utility.

Q How do I access my WWW/FTP site ?
You can access your personal FTP/WWW directories through Telnet, FTP or WWW
- Telnet - Use a telnet client to log onto 'shell.accesscom.com', using your username and password.
- FTP - Use an FTP client to log onto 'shell.accesscom.com', using your username and password.
- WWW - To access
your WWW site from a web browser, go to URL
http://mypalace.chatserve.com
Q Can I get a virtual domain name for my web site ?
You can register a virtual domain name with Access Internet Communications.

Q How do I edit/upload my WWW site
?
You can upload files (HTML, GIF, etc) to your personal WWW directories through any FTP client.
- Use an FTP application and set the Host to 'shell.accesscom.com'.
- Provide your username and password.
- Type www (also know as public_html) as the
Directory.
Q What are possible default home
page names ?
A "home page" refers to the page that a visitor is automatically sent to if they do not specify a page. It is the usual starting place for the rest of your web site.
On Chatserve, you can use any of the following names for your home page.
- index.html
- index.htm
- index.cg
- index.shtml
- INDEX.HTML
- INDEX.HTM
- default.html
(if more than one of these docuents exists in your web directory the web server will choose from them in the order shown)
If you have already designed your web site using a different name for your home page, you can speify a new home page name for your site using a .htaccess file.

Q How do I secure all or part of my web site ?
To create password protection for a portion of your website, go to the User Utility Page and select the Access Cointrol utility.
