Q - What can I do with the Palace Utilities ?

The palace related utilities on the User Utility Page allow you to start and stop your palace, view and edit your palace files and do a lot of maintenance on your palace. See the rest of this FAQ for details on specific palace utilities.

Q - Can I (or anyone) get my god and wizard passwords from the utility page ? - No - We originally had this as an option on the utility page and it was unanimously decided by the customers at the time that this was too big a security risk. If you forget your god/owner or wiz/operator passwords you will have to contact the office by phone and establish your identity before we can give you the passwords. If you need help with a forgotten password, please call 510 608-7873 for help.

Ok enough of what you can't do. here's what you CAN do........

You can select from the list to jump to a particular utility or you can just use the Next button at the bottom of the page to go through them one at a time

Restart server - Restart your palace server
Stop server - Stop your palace server (use as last resort)
Set server version - Set your palace server version from the available versions
Restart from backup - Restart your palace server with a backup copy of your pserver.prp file
Restart and truncate - Restart your palace server with an empty pserver.prp file
Restore pserver.pat - Restore one of your previous pserver.pat files
Backup pserver.prp - Backup your pserver.prp file
Modify server files - Modify pserver.pat or pserver.prefs files
Download pserver.pat - Download a copy of your pserver.pat file
Download pserver.prefs - Download a copy of your pserver.prefs file
Upload pserver.pat - Upload a copy of your pserver.pat file
Upload media file - Upload a picture or sound file for your server
Rotating pserver.log - Change pserver.log rotation frequency between daily and weekly
View pserver.log - View the raw/analysis version of your recent pserver.log files or download any available log file.
View ban list - View the list of currently banned users
Enable/disable chat log - Enable/disable chat log feature
View chat logs - View your chat log file located at 'logs/chat.log'
Remove unused files - Removing unused image and sound files
Plug-ins - Active a variety of plug-ins
Determine room sizes - Determine size of each of your palace rooms
Password look-up - Look-up Lockable Room Info passwords
Regcode look-up - Look-up the active server regcode
Reset counter - Reset web counter
Create counter - Create additional web counters
Access Control - Password protect directories of your web site
