Q - What is Telnet ? - Telnet allows you to access your Shell account via a UNIX command line interface.
If that still leaves you in the dark, don't worry. Shell access is for those true geeks that learned about the Internet long before there was a World Wide Web and the graphic interfaces we have now.
So - if you're still in the dark - Shell access is probably not for you and you can skip this FAQ :-)
Q - Does Chatserve support shell (telnet) access ? - Yes - because we know it's hard to teach an old geek new tricks.

Q - What can I do in the shell ? - The shell is full featured and supports most of the shell programs and daemons out there. The options are far too numerous to mention here so if you have a favorite shell function you're fond of and you can't get it to work on chatserve, please let us know.
