Palace Commands - Listing Users

Commands in this set - 'list, 'glist

Command - `list
Syntax - `list [-kopw] [(user)]

Command - `glist
Syntax - `glist [-kopw] [(user)]

Arguments - all arguments to this command are optional
(user): only list information about , not all users
-k: show registration key hashes
-o: show software origination codes and machine types
-p: show the PUID key hashes
-w: only list wizards/operators and gods/owners

What it does - These two commands are functionally identical except that 'list gives you a list of everyone in the same room as you and 'glist gives you a list of everyone on your palace - regradless of the room they are in. You can add information to the list by using any of the arguments above

Details - The output of 'list or 'glist will appear in your log window. The output will look like this *** ; g Hank 12.234.123.50 The Valley

Reading the list - The letter at the start of the line tells you what kind of user this person is

n - The user is a guest - has no client registration code
m - The user is a member - has a client registration code
w - The user is a wizard/operator
g - The user is a god/owner

The next item on the line is the user name, followed by the IP adress the user is connected from, then the room the person is in.

Options for this command - If you use one of the optional arguments, the output will look like this

The -k option - show REGKEY key hashes (example 'list -o)
*** ; g Hank 2.234.123.50 The Valley {ABCDEFG}

The -o option - show software origination codes and machine types (example 'list -p)
*** ; g Hank 2.234.123.50 The Valley (TP351 PPC Mac)

The -p option - show the PUID key hashes (example 'list -k)
*** ; g Hank 2.234.123.50 The Valley {ZABCDEFGHI}

You can also pecify a specific user by PUID hash, REGKEY hash IP address or username. When you do this, only the user (or users) that meet the search criteria are listed.
Examples
'glist Hank - list anyone with a username that starts with Hank
'glist ABCDEFG - list anyone with a regkeyhash of ABCDEFG
'glist ZABCDEFGHI - list anyone with a PUID hash of ZABCDEFGHI
'glist 12.123.123.123 - list anyone with an IP address of 12.123.123.123
'glist 12.123.* - list anyone with an IP address that starts with 12.123.

Whisper Option: You can use the `list command by selecting a user on your palace and whispering the command to them. When you do this, only the specific user you are whispering to is listed.

You can use multiple options at the same time. For example, 'glist -k -o will give you a list of REGKEY Hashes and Software codes.
